I am a baseball player and was watching baseball and saw a new nike wristband that Miami and other college teams have been wearing and a couple of pro teams that have them too. I want a pair because they have many colors and they are thin enough as if they were tape. (which I wear now). All I know is there nike.

Answer
You're talking about the Nike Plus wrist band.
Here it is and you can buy it online too:

Is there a sensor in my nike plus shoes?

Ciaran

I bought a pair of Nike plus shoes.
Is there a sensor in them or do I have to buy one?
What does the sensor in the shoe do?
Is it worth getting one?
I have the android app and it has no menu or settings for the shoe sensor, why not?

Answer
- Unless you have put a sensor in there then there won't be one
- Don't base your running shoe choice on a gadget, base it on how they feel and fit (just in case you didn't)
- If you want to put a sensor in the shoe you have to buy one and remember that other companies apart from Nike make running gadgets with a shoe sensor (such as Adidas, Garmin, Timex, )
- The sensor essentially sends a signal out every time it moves and when it stops moving and from this can work out how many steps you are taking and how long your foot is stationary on the floor for (it is stationary when in contact with the floor - else you are slipping). A bit of maths from the number of steps and time stationary works out speed and then some maths to work out distance and a guess at the calories you have used. Assume this to be about 90% accurate - above or under what it really is.
- To use the nike systems you will need to buy a sensor and have a gadget to record and display the data that it sends out. The cheapest is the sportsband (about £40) the most expensive is the ipod (£160 + receiver) or the iphone (iphone 4S from about £500 - remember that next time you take it for a run in the rain).
- My preferred system is a Garmin GPS watch (Garmin forerunner 205 by preference) and if you must listen to music then a much cheaper than overpriced apple stuff and a Sony mp3 player at about £20 or supermarket own one for about £10... then all is good when it rains
- I have no idea about robots

How should I do interval training?

I am planning on getting back into shape by jogging/running. I'm 13, and I recently ran an 8 km race in 40 mins.

I haven't really been training for about 1.5 months now, so I really have to get back into shape.

I was thinking maybe 2mins run/2 mins walk/jog, but I'm not exactly an expert. What do you think?

Answer
suggest you run the 5k once a day 4-5 days a week. don't do it every day because then you will burn yourself out and never have time to recover. drink lots of water before you run not to get cramps, then do a 3-5 minute jog as a warm up. after that stretch out. you should stretch out after the warm up and not before (remember this because stretching out before is almost useless) when you are done with your workout then do a cool down (same as the warm up) and stretch again not to be sore the next day. get a watch to time yourself and preferably do this at a nearby track at a high school. 1 lap is 400m so your going to have to 12.5. if you cannot finish a 5k do a 3k or a 4k or whatever you can. the interval training you suggested in your question is worthless for getting into good shape, and is only good for losing weight. make sure your running shoes arent very old and worn out.
distance running is a mantality sport so do what you can to psych yourself up, ipod, cd player, pushing yourself.. or whatever
good luck with getting into shape

How much should i run each day for cross country?

latina gur

I'm 15 years old. I have never ran crosscountry, but im in good shape cause i play other sports. But i don't think im ready for crosscountry. Oh i want to run 2 miles in less than 15 min. So I need a workout. Thankyou bye!

Answer
If your in good shape, I'm going to recomend you start out running without any breaks for thirty minutes. You should do this at least four times a week. As you feel more comfortable with the distance, you can increase the number of days you run, how long you run(boost it to 45 minutes), or how fast or hard you run. This will give you the endurance you need to run cross country and the two mile.

The best way to get speed is through interval training. To do this, go to a highschool or college track, or any place you know exactly how far you're running. Bring a watch(watches are essintal for cross country) Warm up with two laps on the track, or 1/2 a mile. For the work out, run one lap(1/4 a mile) much faster than your workout speed, but not all out sprinting speed. Never sprint! You should be able to run the same speed the entire lap. Once you've finished the lap, note how fast you ran it, and unless you're faintingly exhausted, try to shoot for all your laps at that speed. Jog the same distance you ran(one lap) as a recovery. Then repeat the hard paced lap. Do this five times. This is the best way to build up distance speed, but don't overdo this. Only do this workout once a week, and if you think your getting injured, stop until you can diagnose the problem.

At the end of a week, you should have a long run. If you are running for thirty minutes, your long run should be fourty-five minutes. If your running for forty-five minutes, make the long run an hour. This run is essential for building endurance.

These workouts build the base of any great running program. Increase your intensity as you get more comfortable with them. If you start and they are to hard, slow down, but try to build up to them. Good luck with your cross country career!

Is it worth buying the Garmin 610 or will they come out with a better one soon?

Alex

I was thinking about buying the Garmin 610. It is very expensive though, so I was wondering if it is worth it or should I just wait. And how long do you thing it would be? Thanks!

Answer
Personally, as a runner, I don't understand the difference between the 301 and everything that has come after it (though I do understand the need for a company to market new products). It costs about 3 times what I paid for my 301 and for what, a touch screen instead of the buttons or to download a performance that I can compare with others online? No matter how many bells and whistles they add to it, after a GPS watch tells you how far you ran, how fast you ran it, how fast your heart beat doing it, if you are on pace doing a run and is able to download this information onto a computer, everything else is marketing.

Want to buy a Garmin 410 Sports Watch, have they been discontinued?

John

I want to buy a Garmin 410 sports watch, im into running and could do with a gps enabled watch like the Garmin Forerunner 410. Ive been looking online but it seems its been discontinued, does anyone know where I can get one, or is it too late?

Answer
The garmin 410 foreunner is a great gps sports watch, ive got one myself. I was looking into getting the garmin 610 recently and am at a loss if I should go for it or not, they are both similar in many ways. You can still get the garmin 410 at Amazon but the price varies alot. The site I left in the resoucre box gives a good review of the 410, 610 and some other garmin gps sports devices.

Watches that measure walking and sprinting in Metres?

Paul

i've been searching for a gps sports watch that measures running and walking distances in metres but i can't seem to find any, the ones i find seem to measure in miles and k/m. I want to measure in metres for 100m sprints so mileage is no use it has to be in metres. I'm just wondering though, is there any portable device available that measures walking and running distance in metres ?

Answer
The Suunto Ambit displays the kms in such resolution that you can read the 10-meter increments. I suppose other GPS watches are like that too. And some smartphone apps might do the same.

But note that GPS accuracy is not very high, so the single-digit readings are not that reliable.

Hi, I am going on a cruise soon and was wondering if when I run on the track that is on the cruise, will the distance and pace results of my Garmin Forerunner 450 (gps running watch) be messed up because of the ship's motion?

Answer
Although I don't have such a watch, I'm quite sure the answer is yes. GPS determines the longitude and latitude and calculates distance, speed, etc from that. Your cruise ship should have a sign on the walking deck that states how far one lap is.

What was your experience in using a Casio Phys Pedometer watch for getting your running pace and distance?

Lito

I am looking at buying a Casio Phys Pedometer watch but I am not sure if it works well in getting a runner's pace, no. of steps and distance. Does it work well for running applications?

Answer
You can try it. However, I just use an ordinary pedometer. Dont care (as yet) about heart rate as long as my time is maintained.

what happens at a 5k?

best gps watch for running women on Garmin Forerunner 110 GPS Sports Watch for Runners | GadgetFolder.Com
best gps watch for running women image

Its_only_m

I am going to organize a 5k and I need to know what happens like do you just run it and go home or what should I hand out to the runners and is there live music and food or what about the timing? like how do they know your time? and how about the results? please if you have ever ran a 5k please tell me everything that happened that day!!!
oh and if have ever like organized a 5k what was that like and how did you determine the winners?

Answer
From a runners point of view it should run something like this:

You register to run the race, whether this is by posting an entry form to the organisers, online registration or registering on the day. Registration is usually confirmed by the organisers giving you a race number - either through the post or given out on the day (if registered in advance the numbers are given out according to name. otherwise given as soon as you are registered). Costs can vary from free to however much the organisers dare to charge

More answer later.....

Its now later.

Having registered, paid if required, collected number the runner will prepare and get ready. When the start time comes a race official might call every one over to the start line or the runners will just gather there. Sometimes there is a race briefing - some things such as safety, route and course, and anything special about the race. They will start the race with a horn, a shout, starters pistol or something and off you go. The course will generally have a few signs put out - arrows to show the route plus warning signs for others on the route to say that there are runners and caution is needed (often "Caution: Runners"), there could also be marshalls there as well to point the way and as a point where a runner can drop out if they have to.

Race done there will be a finish line, often over the line the runners will be put into a funnel to keep them in single file and the officials can record the race numbers of the runners in the order that the finished. Another official will record the times that the runner cross the line. Once through the funnel there could be a medal and 'goody bag', water, sometimes snacks or bananas and somewhere to gather and chat. For a 5k race, about an hour after the start you can have an award ceremony - give out prizes to top 3 men and women and perhaps prizes for people of different ages and any other prizes they want to five out. Then go home and brag how well they did.

Right so that is the runners perspective.

Right from an organisers point of view - if I have space left..
First get a route to run, measure it online with a mapping website, then measure it in reality with say a car (if it is a road race), cycle, or runner with a GPS watch. Then you need to get permission to run the race when you want to. There are quite a lot of things to look for - things like having somewhere dry for the registration (a building, big tent etc), toilets and changing. Then you need to advertise it. Oh, you might also need to consifer insurance too. Can you get local companies to sponsor the race too with free stuff or money, or just reduced costs for things

After advertising you will get entries sent in, will you also allow people to enter on the day, or only enter on the day?

When you get an idea of race number you might want to consider a goody bag - things like medals - you need to know how many people to know how many to order. Goody bag might have a medal, t-shirt depending on the price you are gong to charge (a free race won't have much - can't afford it!), perhaps fliers for local sponsors, bottle of water and so on. Oh, order race numbers too

You might be better to e-mail an established 5k race to get everyrthing that you need to do before the race since I am sure to forget things

Race day - get there early and set it all out, walk the route and set out the signs, tell the marshalls where to stand and how they will know when to come back again - you might have a sweeper to follow the last runner, once they have passed the course can be taken down. Oh, if you have goody bags, fill these before race day.

... again ask an established race for a check sheet - too much to write here.

Finish - you might just do it by who crosses the line first, get a marshal to take note of their number of the first 3 men and women and that is it - easy. Some runners like to know times so here more complicated - you can hire timing chips and mats that do it automaitcally depending on the race size this might be too expensive, or you get 3 people to do it, 1 person shouts out times as people cross theline - use a stop watch to time the race time, the next person writes down the times in order and the 3rd person writes down the order the numbers cross the line - 2 bits of paper with lists on and these need to be put together sometime. You can also use a computer system - perhaps a soreadsheet could be used.

Last though, enter a 5k and you will see what happens!! Offer to help out at one and get an insight to organising one too. I've writtem loads now so will go.

I'm looking for a running watch that diplays both the split time and overall time simutaneously.?

tTate

I know the Garmin has it, just looking for something more cost effective. Not interested in the GPS. My Nike and Ironman have splits and overall but not on the screen at the same time. Thank you~

Answer
I don't know about you, but I've got an Ironman that's got splits and overall on the same screen...however, it's a women's watch, and I don't know what it's called, since it was a gift. I do know that they've got a male counterpart...just letting you know that Ironman does have one out there. Not as much help as it could be, but hope this helps a little.

What do horseback riders call one another?

best watch for runners women on henxen international CO.,LTD www.henxen.com ,shoes, clothes, bag ...
best watch for runners women image

Mr. Best A

Jockey is only used to describe 100 pound, 5' tall men, that wear tights and beat their horse in the ass with a stick. So what about the hobbyists?

People who run are runners. People who rock climb are climbers. Do they call each other riders or is there another term or slang for it?
Thanks and I don't doubt it. I bet what they do is exhausting.

Answer
First of all, Smarty Pants, not all jockeys are male, not any more. There are females who have been very successful in recent years and decades, including Chantal Sutherland ( who's now retired), Julie Krone, Rosie Napravnik, and several more. Many trainers prefer to employ women as grooms and exercise riders too, because they believe that women can relate to horses better than men. As for what riders call each other, that varies. "Riders" is the most common term I've heard, with an additional name that designates which sport or discipline the person is involved in. There are dressage riders, event riders, show jumping riders or show jumpers, hunter riders, equitation riders, saddle seat riders, stock seat or Western riders, and so forth. People who play polo are called polo players. People who barrel race are called barrel racers. If someone does cutting or reining, he or she is called a cutter or a reiner, depending on the sport.

Horse sports are gender neutral. Men and women compete equally with and against one another, especially in international events like the Olympic Games and the WEG. These are also the only sports in which co-ed teams are common. It's not unsual at all to see married couples competing together, or teams made up of brothers, sisters, or father and son combinations. There's even one sport, endurance riding, where there was a famous mother/daughter combination that represented the US some years ago- Valerie and Danielle Kanavy. The rules are the same for both genders in all horse sports. After all, the horses don't care what a rider's gender is, nor do they care what their riders look like or what their riders' political affliliation may be. Horses also have no concept or notion of the terms "gay" and "straight" the way humans do. It's this gender blind, race blind, color blind, and species blind attitude that makes horse sports unique.

One other note: The crop that jockeys use is very soft, and is more a noisemaker than an instrument of punishment. It doesn't hurt the horse, and there are strict rules against overuse of the whip on every track. Jockeys who break or violate such rules can face fines and loss of their license to ride, which means they can't make a living. The racing stewards are always watching what jockeys do, and they are on the lookout for poor behavior all the time. And the jockeys don't wear tights, they wear breeches, as do riders in all other English style sports. A lot of jockeys are taller than five feet, too, especially those who ride steeplechase horses. Peope who participate in harness sports are called drivers. If the sport is competitive driving, the driver may have a navigator and a brakeman along too.

What are your marriage and love experiences?

Brianna

I want to get an insight on what people experience in real life love and marriages. Men or women, I don't care, but what was your proposal like, your wedding, your first child, and if you stayed together so long, the 'growing old together' thing? What's it like?

Answer
My husband and I just got married this year in august. We had a daughter last december and she's the joy of our lives. Usually I take care of her, unless i ask for help, but as she gets older, it gets easier for him. He doesn't do well in the baby department. I'm sure the next child will be a lot easier for him. I do like taking care of her though myself. I don't want to miss any moments and want to remember her as a sweet innocent baby BEFORE she hits her teenage years.. Kids grow old fast and I know. I never got to have a childhood so I want to make sure she has the best one I can give her. My husband proposed to me june of 2011. I was completely shocked. The whole time I was thinking when or if he was going to propose, but he still shocked me. We went to a local restaurant for his grandfather's birthday and his whole side of the family came. That wasn't unusual because they always were close and the whole family always came to everything. When they brought out his grandfather's birthday cake, they brought out another cake..I had already read the birthday cake so I was curious who else had a birthday today. I was trying to read it, but had to read it like 3 times before I actually understood what it said..I thought it said william mary me? and that didnt make sense so i read it a couple more times and finally understood that it said will you marry me? i didnt even give him time to say a speech or even ASK me before i hugged him and said yes yes yes!!!! then he gave a shorter speech than he planned for and then put the ring on my finger. Everyone in the restaurant knew, including all the staff. It was a great time! our wedding was even better. We had the ceremony in the town gazebo . Of course, nothing went as planned though. The music didn't work, the speaker was broken, my husband (fiancee at the time) forgot the runner, and the stroller for the flowergirl was missing. The bridesmaids and groomsmen followed each other too closely to get good shots, but overall the ceremony turned out well. We had a great time and got some other good shots afterwards. We both gave our mothers a special rose in respect to how they raised up to become the people we are today. My husband's grandmother read a poem as well as a close family member of mine. ( brother in law). The reception was 5 minutes down the road at a local country club. It was a smaller one so we could afford it. Two hearts, One love was our theme. So we had silver, white and purple as our colors.I had 1 maid of honor, and 3 bridesmaids. He had 1 best man and 3 groomsman. The music was great and food was delicious. My husband's aunt prepared the whole wedding. She shopped for all the wedding materials, prepared the hall and ceremony gazebo, and cooked and prepared all the food. She also took all the wedding pictures!! She was our wonderwoman, that's for sure.
Our daughter, Natalie Rose was born last year in December. She is turning a year old this year and she grows soo fast. She has 4 almost 5 teeth growing in and she's walking now too! Next will be potty training. They grow soo fast and it's not funny! I can't wait for the many years to watch her grow. We are planning on having 2 children at least. If the next one is a girl , we are going to try for a boy for a third child. If the 3rd one is still a girl, before we have another one that will depend on our income situation at that moment in time. We've been together since the summer before our senior year. We are 21 now so we have been together for 3 1/2 yrs now. We can't wait to grow old together. We would've went to college but we didn't want to give up on each other. We were so happy with each other, we knew college would ruin it. He didn't go to college but got numerous certificates. I went to an online college while I was pregnant and got a certificate for Child Daycare Management. Though, I decided that's not really what I want to do. I'm not sure what career I reallly want to do, but my husband likes to help people. He's pretty certain he is going to stay in the medical field.
But i have to say, not many people can do this. Yes we are young but we handle things in our relationship unlike most other couples. We do everything 50-50. You sometimes have to give in even if your right, but is it worth losing your spouse over? we don't treat each other with disrespect and we are considerate of how the other one feels. Our important decisions are made together and there is always time for everything and nothing is ever too late.

How do I clean and use a vintage coffee percolator?

top running watches 2011 on henxen international trade CO.,LTD www.henxen.com ,shoes,clothes ...
top running watches 2011 image

Mary

I bought a 30 cup Mirrormatic coffee percolator at a thrift store. It's electric. It doesn't have the percolating bulb on top of the lid. First, how do I get it thoroughly cleaned? Second, how do I properly make the coffee? It doesn't have an automatic shut off or anything. My mom has passed away and I am sure she would have known. I've seen these percolators growing up when there are a large group of people at gatherings and I wanted one for when I have company over so I'm not running and refilling my smaller coffee maker all the time.

Answer
The best (most efficient and safest) way to clean a vintage percolator (or any coffee maker) is to use a 50%/50% combination of water and white vinegar.

The GlamourBomb vintage cooking blog below may be very helpful for you, as she discusses using, cleaning, maintaining her vintage percolator..which is similar to what you have. They all pretty much work in the same way..some are massive (30 - 40 cup capacity) and some are only 8 - 12 cup capacity. All of those are great. It's always wonderful to use something that our near and dear used on a regular basis. It's great that you have that to remember your Mum by. I'm sure she had fun using it over the years. There's no great trick to preparing coffee in a percolator but here are a few links to help you along:

The You Tube tutorials are great because they'll show you, step by step..how to operate as well as maintain your vintage percolator. In my experience, it is always best to keep the coffee at the lowest temperature setting possible (to avoid the coffee having that scorched taste), once it has been brewed. Some of those vintage, large capacity percolators have a tendency to really heat up. With no proper ON/OFF switch, that leaves simply unplugging if you want to lower the temp from time to time. Those are fantastic for large groups, and people can simply help themselves to another cup of coffee (which most people prefer anyway). Much simpler to use one of those vs. running back and forth (you're right). The other great thing is that those (seem to) last f-o-r-e-v-e-r and never seem to burn out, as newer coffeemakers do.

Who is your favorite Kentucky Derby contender 2012 so far?

Aaron

Many people may say Union Rags or Algorithms or Hansen, but I am really keeping a close eye on "Dullahan" who has ran pretty good since going 2 turns. I think he will handle the dirt at Churchill, & I think he is going to like the distance.

Answer
At this point, with more derby prep races coming up, it's hard to pick one favorite, however, I do agree with your choice as one of many that I'm keeping my eye on. Here the horses in my virtual stable along with some long shots not necessarily in order of preference-

I agree with Dullahan- (D.Romans K. Desormeaux) I was very intrigued by this horse, considering he came in 2nd after a 4 month layoff in the Palm Beach (Gr3) Next Start: Apr 14 - Blue Grass (G1)

Also: Tops my list is Union Rags (Michael Matz, trainer; Julien Leparoux, jockey): An amazing horse. As the Fountain of Youth (G2) winner he worked 5 furlongs in 1:04 1/5 under Leparoux at Palm Meadows on Saturday.Next start: Florida Derby (G1), Gulfstream, March 31.

~ Secret Circle (Bob Baffert, Rafael Bejarano): Showed versatility by stalking leaders before Rebel (G2) win. Has won 5 of 6 races, with only loss by a half-length in the Sham (G3). Next start: Arkansas Derby, Oaklawn, April 7.

~ Howe Great (Graham Motion, John Velazquez): Palm Beach (G3) winner is turf tested, but may wait until Derby for his test on dirt. Team Valor's Barry Irwin took a similar route with 2011 Derby winner Animal Kingdom .Next start: Blue Grass (G1), Keeneland, April 14.

~ Hansen (Mike Maker, Ramon Dominguez): Gotham (G3) winner worked 4 furlongs in 50 2/5 seconds at Churchill Downs trackside training center on Sunday. Next start: Wood Memorial (G1), Aqueduct, April 7.

El Padrino (Todd Pletcher, Javier Castellano): Risen Star (G2) winner among Pletcher's many Derby hopefuls. Colt has won both starts in 2012. Next start: Florida Derby.

~ Gemologist (Pletcher, Castellano): Won long-awaited 3-year-old debut by seven lengths in an allowance race at Gulfstream on Friday. Improve to 4 of 4. Next start: Wood Memorial.

~ Creative Cause (Mike Harrington, Joel Rosario): San Felipe (G2) winner may end up as top West Coast contender for Derby. Next start: Santa Anita Derby (G1), Santa Anita, April 7.

~ Alpha (Kiaran McLaughlin, Dominguez): Withers (G3) winner worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.20 Saturday at Palm Meadows. Final Derby prep still not definite, probable Florida Derby.

~ Bodemeister (Baffert, Bejarano): Named for Baffert's youngest son, Bode. A game second in San Felipe in third career start. Next start: Santa Anita Derby.

~ Mark Valeski (Larry Jones, Rosie Napravnik): Risen Star runner-up working toward final Derby prep at home base. Next start: Louisiana Derby (G1), Fair Grounds, April 1.

Also: Optimizer who came to a nice flying close to place in the Rebel..definate speed there. Also, looking forward to watching Take Charge Indy in next Prep...

We shall see.. :)

hi, im looking for a running watch with gps features that record my pace, distance, and time, i would appreciate any recommendations. thanks!

Answer
I have the Garmin 210 and I love it. Very simple to use and it has all the things you're looking for. I paid $200, you can also pay something like $270 to get the watch, heart monitor, and foot pod to record distance inside but I don't need those things. The 210 isn't bulky so it can be used as a normal everyday watch if you wanted, some of the running watches out there I don't think you could do that although I guess you could but it would look strange. If you're looking to buy any GPS watch check out DC Rainmakers blog, he does fantastic reviews of GPS watches among other things.

What if my only ambition in life is to eat sleep and watch tv?

lucy

I've been unemployed for 1 yr and 9 months. I've been living off the checks. I'm not really looking for a job right now because there are none, but eventually the money will run out and I will have to work! Im 26, and I don't have a college education. I went to massage therapy school 7 years ago and never took the state exam, so I don't remember anything and you need the license to work. So I feel hopeless, I know I brought this upon myself. Any suggestions or advice would be great.

Answer
Why dont you take a preperation class for the exam? I dont know where you are located but Baker college offers a class like this in Michigan where it is essentially a study/review class for the test. There are also review books full of sample questions you can usually find on ebay/amazon.com for cheap to study from, which you could yourself at home. If you just give yourself a little push, I am sure you can do it and there are lots of people looking for massage therapists in every state.

What kind of running watch do you use?

garmin running watch 301 image

caitlin

Also what are your thoughts on it? I am in the market for a watch for cross country to race in because my current watch is GPS which isn't allowed

Answer
I have a Garmin 301 which is an older model but has everything the newer models have. The 201 doesn't have GPS.

I've watched Coffee Prince , Boys Over Flowers , & i JUST finished Seeking Love .
I watched a half of an episode of Love Cheer , but i didnt like it .
I like the main guy character to be cute ;3 .
If anyone can recommend me a Korean drama , with cute romance & a cute guy , i will love you forever :D . Not really . Lol . Hahhahaha . ;p.
Please & thank you .

Answer
Haven't seen Seeking Love yet but it sounds like a good drama I have to put that on my list to watch

-Operation Proposal- MUST SEE- Amazing drama that you will fall in love with I just saw the last episode and was crying my eyes out and fangirling at the same time!! I have to say it has to be my fav drama now over BOF and You're Beautiful!! ---Kang Baek Ho realizes that he is in love with his best friend, Ham Yi Seul, on the day of her wedding to another man. He travels back in time to various events of their lives hoping to change the outcome of their relationship. Will Baek Ho be able to change the course of their future?

- You're Beautiful (favorite Drama)(really cute hot guys) Alot similar to BOF its such an amazing drama with really hot guys and I have fallen in love with it. It's about------The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However, the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.

- Heartstrings with the same actress(Park Shin Hye) and an actor (Jung Yong Hwa) that was in You're Beautiful. But it is a different drama its not like a sequel to You're Beautiful. It's about a girl and a boy meet but at first they basically hate each other. Then they soon find they have to work together to compose music for a musical/play at there school. It's a really sweet drama plus I love hearing both of them sing!! :D

-Can you hear my Heart- The love story of Cha Dong Joo, a man who's been rendered deaf after an accident but pretends he can hear, and Bong Woo Ri, a woman who's intelligent but pretends she's dim-witted to protect the dignity of her mentally handicapped father.(a bit slow at first since there kids in the first few episodes but it picks up around the 4th episode when they appear as grown ups)

- Personal Preference - Romantic Comedy. A man pretends to be gay in order to be able to rent a room at a girl's place. Features Lee Min Ho( from Boys Over Flowers) a fun watch

-Rooftop Prince-(still airing on 6th episode) A prince from the Joseon era, Lee Gak, is catapulted 300 years forward into the future in Seoul 2012 with his entourage, which includes Song Man Bo, Do Chi San and Woo Young Sul, when he tries to investigate the suspicious circumstances which surround the death of the girl he loved. In the present, he finds a girl who looks exactly like his beloved crown princess...

- My Princess- An ordinary college student, Lee Seol, finds out she's a princess. The grandson of Daehan Group, Park Hae Young, is put in charge of educating Seol on proper etiquette. However, Hae Young is put in a precarious situation when he finds himself drawn to Seol, the girl who will take away his inheritance if the monarchy is restored.

- Shining inheritance (extremely dramatic like boys over flowers, but still a bit funny and cute)

- Dream High/ Dream High season 2 - Music, Romance. A group of musicians try to make it big but come across some obstacles.

--Mary Stayed out All Night- Wi Mae Ri is the cheerful, pragmatic daughter of a failed businessman who had grown used to being constantly on the move to escape from debtors. She becomes fast friends with the free-spirited indie singer Kang Moo Kyul when she nearly ran him over in a car. Meanwhile, her father Wi Dae Han is saved from his debtors by his old friend, Jung Suk, who had just returned from considerable success in the Japanese entertainment industry. Jung Suk, who had harboured a secret love for Mae Ri's mother, sets up a deal with Dae Han to have Mae Ri marry his son, Jung In. Desperate to escape this predicament, Mae Ri begs Moo Kyul to pose as her husband, and finds herself in even more trouble than before when her father proposes a 100-day period in which she has to divide her time equally between Moo Kyul and Jung In, after which she has to decide who to marry.

Can I use bluetooth speakers to watch movies on my laptop with good quality?

I have a laptop which I use mainly for watching movies, and I'm thinking about upgrading my 2.1 speaker system to one that has bluetooth capabilities (A2DP & AVRCP). No wires around my laptop would make it easier to move around my room. But will I be able to watch movies using the bluetooth-connected speakers with good audio quality?

Answer
Bluetooth is a digital interface. Provided it has enough bandwidth for digital audio (2-ch is about 1.5 Mbit/s) and there are no drops due to distance, a digital interface has nothing to do with audio quality. Audio quality depends on the quality of the speakers.

To move around your room, you still need power. If you use the battery, most laptops run at lower speed to preserve energy, and that may cause playback problems. Having a blue-tooth transmitter, means even more power drain from your battery. So, do test first your laptop in battery mode.

How can I keep a blue heron away from my koi pond?

bugrrl3

I have a pond in my backyard that's approximately 10 feet by 12 feet wide and 3 feet deep at it's deepest point. It has a variety of frogs, snails, goldfish and koi in it. There are lily pads and a bridge that the fish can hide under. Tonight I saw my first heron in 9 years out back walking by the pond. I saw him land and ran out and scared him off. He came back 2 hours later. Luckily, again, I saw him land right away and ran out and scared him off. What can I do to protect my fish and to scare this heron away permanently. (short of shooting him, which I believe is illegal anyway). Thanks for your help!

Answer
Blue herons are beautiful but they can do some damage to a koi pond!

I don't have a koi pond but I have heard of two things that are supposed to work:

Bird netting to keep them out

No shallow areas in the koi pond
Since herons are wading birds, they tend to fish in shallow water areas. No shallow water, no areas for the heron to fish. But of course that limits your koi sightings also.
Recently I was watching a small blue heron at the local botanic gardens koi pond. They didn't have any shallow areas for the bird to wade though so he was limited to standing on the bank staring at the koi in the water. He never attempted a fish grab in the deeper water.

The Jr. High youth group that my wife and I run is having an overnighter in a month and it is going to be Survivor themed. I need some help coming up with games and activities to make this a great night. I expect 30-40 kids and we have the whole church to use and a large gym.

Answer
Hi

there is something called slumsurvior that we used over in the UK a couple of weeks back. we watched video clips about the parts of the world that lived on $1 or less a day, made slums we had to sleep in outside in a field, had lots of challenges that rewarded us with food and made us realize the value of running taps nearby etc.

it's not just a uk thing and unlike us you don't have to spend two nights camped out in the icy part of early winter - but it's a great idea and there are loads of resources that can be downloaded for free that give you ideas for games and activities and video's even what to eat with recipes. the UK initiative is soulaction.org but there is another almost identical one at slumsurvivor.org. the video clips can be found on youtube under the user soulactionUK if you can't get the dvd shipped in time.

I'm presuming you are a christian group though it doesn't matter if not the idea would still work - but the video's may not. we gave the kids sponsor forms for the event and with the leaders raised quite a sum, but i've done some of the activities as an awareness exercises for one evening and they still work great.

What can we do to prevent as well as lower the rate of obesity in today's youth?

palxtreaux

Studies have proven that more that one in every four children that is examined by a health professional is either obese, or possesses a great deal of risk for becoming obese.
What can we do to help the youth at risk? Many people don't realize that when they remain significantly overweight, they pose risk for more than 10 serious and possibly fatal diseases.
The thing is - we need to be realistic. Fast food restaurants are never going to go away, and parents can only prevent their child for so long. I know of mnay children that were not allowed to consume fast food, but did it every chance they got when their parents were oblivious.
Also, we can't always force the youth to get away from the TV, go outside and exercise. There are also parents that won't force their child to do that either. Many parents say that schools need to do this and do that, but they think that the proposal stops at 3pm, and they don't have to worry about anything. "Since the schools can take care of it." Many parents, especially parents that are also overweight will not force their child to do something "just to be skinny", the thing is, many parents feel as if their child does not need to lose weight because they feel as if they would be catering to society's ideals.

Answer
Watch the movie, "Super Size Me".

They have great ways to help. Sure the movie bags on fast food ... but it also has many necessary and realistic ways to make children's diets better.

One of the most fascinating segment in the movie was when they visited a "Alternative School" for children with stuff like ADHD & other behavior prob's ... The students weren't running around like maniac's and the movie suggested it's because of the "Fresh Caffeteria Food". This school feed vegtables, fruits, and fresh meat. Then they went to a public school where hamburgars, hot dogs, and other "Government Food" was being served. Those kids were a mess!!!

In short I like the movie's suggestions:
1. Good food at school.
2. More exercise classes.
3. Remove vending machiens from school.

How does John Mayer go from sweet sounding solos to bluesy runs and riffs?

Alex

After watching John Mayer play Gravity on the Crossroads dvd, i have been wondering about the scales he uses. I know the song is in G and i can play lead over the chords but in his second solo i noticed that he sounds a lot more bluesy than in his first solo. I was just wondering if he's using a different scale or just adding notes to the scale. If he is then what scale is he using or what notes?

Answer
Try playing the pentatonic scale and the blues scale at different points. It will make it sound like there are two different blues players. If the song is in G, then play a G pentatonic G-A#-C-D-F-G, but then try using the blues scale for G: D-E-G-A-B-D. You can't play the scale exactly the same to get the blues scale, but it is close. When you get better, you will learn to play through the progression, using a combination is the best. The Pentatonic will give it a classic rock solo feel, the blues scale will give it blues flavor.

The one with the narration as it gives you an older style movie introduction and backdrop that adds richly to this great film....

What is the best kind of running shoe?

sports watches for runners nike on Nike and TomTom Develop Nike+ GPS Sports Watch | Running Shoes Guru
sports watches for runners nike image

susie

I run a lot, but recently my feet have been hurting. I blame my shoes from Target, lol. I need a better running shoe. What brands would you reccomend and not reccomend?

Answer
Go to a running store and get your run evaluated. If you are running a lot, just picking a shoe out that may work for someone else is not the way to go. I was having a lot of foot problems when I first started running. It was the shoe. I went to Fleet Feet - not sure if they are a chain or not. But many true running stores will do the same thing. They had me get on a treadmill and they video taped me running. Then they go back and evaluate how I ran. I have a really bad roll out. It was horrible to watch. I was fitted for a shoe to specifically help the problem. Guess what - no more foot pain.
I need to get new ones now and went to a sports store thinking they might have that shoe (it is a Nike) and when I told her the problem she said they don't carry it - I would need to go back to the running store.
Many sports stores, while they might carry Nike, New Balance, etc., don't necessarily carry what hard core runners need. You really want someone who knows what they are talking about fit you for a shoe.

What shoes should I get for Cross Country?

Ty.Jan.Icy

So I'm doing cross country, but my running shoes are starting to get worn out. What brands are good for cross country? Just plain running shoes, or a different type of shoe? Thanks.

-Ty

Answer
Hey! So I'm a cross country runner. I say go to a running shoe store - just like a special shop for runners, if you can. They will watch you run and tell you what kind of shoe you need. It's very beneficial to your season if you have GOOD shoes. Getting a good shoe prevents injury and gives support where you need it.

My shoes are ASICS Gel 1140. ASICS run high in price, but they are the number one brand. Mine were originally $85 but I got them for $76. ASICS are really really nice shoes. They make different types for every kind of runner and are top quality.

If you can't get to a special running store, go to Sports Authority or just a athletic superstore. ASICS, Nike, and Brooks are the best brands.

Make sure to ask the employees for help! Sometimes they are pretty knowledgeble :)

**Don't get flats by the way! Flats(very lightweight thin shoes) are only for racing. Trainers (basic athletic shoes) are for everything else in XC.**

Best of luck! Run hard!
