so i'm looking on Amazon and ebay for a gps, and wondering what constitutes a good gps/gps buy...
anyone has an idea/advice?
tnx!
Answer
It really depends on what you want to use the GPS for. The car? Running? Looking after the kids?

Is it a bad idea to buy a used iphone?
Derrick Q
I am considering buying an iphone for my g/f who has been wanting one for a while now. What kind of things do I need to watch out for? What is the difference between the 1st gen and 2g and 3g? My mom said that someone told her there is a 30 dollar a month fee just to use it or something? Where would be the best place to look for one ebay...craig's list? Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks.
Answer
The first iPhone that came out will have a silver back, with a little black on the bottom. It runs on the EDGE network (whereas the 3G iPhone uses the 3G network).
The iPhone 3G also has built in GPS, and comes in either black or white. The white color is only available on the 16GB.
To use it as a phone you have to have a 2-year service agreement with AT&T. (Unless you can find one unlocked!) Check out AT&Ts website for their rates.
eBay is a pretty good place to look. I'd be careful about people selling that have stock photos instead of taking the time to photograph their item themselves, especially because of what you're trying to buy. As long as you feel comfortable with the listing and you think they've described the phone well, you should be okay. Watch for people selling a lot of iPhones. Doesn't always mean anything bad, but you never know!
Craig's List probably has some for sale, too, but I've never used it so I'm not much help either way on that part. Sorry!
It would almost definitely be cheaper to buy the iPhone from an Apple store or AT&T store since the price for the phone (with the 2 year contract) is a lot cheaper than what most people are selling them for on eBay. That's pretty much because if you don't want to sign a contract with AT&T you need an unlocked iPhone, and since Apple is no longer selling them on their website, there's not really another way to get one without walking into an authorized reseller and setting up a service plan.
You can find more info on the differences in the phones by checking this out : http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/specials/en/2G3Gcomparison.pdf
Apple's website is good, and AT&Ts is, too.
Hope this helps! :)
