I received my play station 3 last xmas and it has worked perfectly since then I have watched movies both blue ray and regular and have played games on it. I turned it on today to play my new game and it said I needed a system update i clicked ok and it was at 65% complete with 1 minute to go and it froze. It says not to turn off the system so I don't know what to do. Help please.

What is the deal with blue ray dvd players?

My friend just bought a playstation 3 and new huge hdtv. I have seen blue ray players in the upwards of $2, 000. Why would I spend that kind of money when I can simply buy a ps3? I want to know the difference between ps3 blue ray players and the super expensive ones. To me it sound the same as dvd players, and for the most part it is hard to find one that is better than the other. What do you think?

It is just a matter of personal preference. Are you a gamer? Are you a young professional? Are you married? Do you want a PS3 in your living room entertainment center? These are some of the reasons for choosing a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player. If you are just watching movies then you should go with the Blu-Ray.
