Who do you have winning the Preakness today?

Sharon S

Will I l Have Another repeat?

Answer
From what I know watching The Preakness for years, is that this race favors stalkers and closers but NOT deep closers, and there's almost always a stretch battle. So, keeping that in mind, these are my picks for 2012-

Win- 9-
I'll Have Another- Who is ranked the highest for The Preakness, he won the Santa Anita Derby, and the Kentucky Derby. Form is awesome. I'll Have Another qualifies on almost every factor. With that, he will seek to stay on a roll, looking for a shot at The Belmont.

Place- 7-
Bodemeister- Strong contender no doubt. Derby earned him a sharp prep, he set the pace in the Derby only to be passed very late..as said The Preakness doesn't really favor Front-runners, yet ya never know Bode could be the exception. I'll Have Another and Bodemeister are my two key horses, that I will wheel with the field.

Show- 5-
Went the Day Well- He could very well be the upset. In the Kentucky Derby he ended up 4th, pretty well for having the worst trip in the race . The blinkers have clearly made him a better horse. Look for John Velazquez to keep him closer to the front. As said, he was 4th in the Derby but only beaten 2 1/2 lengths, a sharp prep set up. He wins from a stalking position, has won at 1 1/8 miles (Spiral Stakes). If he has a trip similar to the one he had in the Spiral Stakes,we could have our Preakness winner.

:)

@ Big Bully Boy- Really unfortunate for your friend. However, there's gambling in all sports including casino gambling, while some choose to drink and not manage their money, others drink responsibly or not at all and manage their money wisely..bottom line everyone is responsible for themselves.. :)

Alright, what does it take to be in the olympics?

ok, so i was just thinking about this recently. i think i want to be in the Olympics. I am very passionate about running and basketball. this is one of my life goals, to compete in the Olympics.
yes is know its a lot of work and a lot of commitment. i am currently MVP for basketball and the best runner in my school. at the age of 13 i won 2 races both 1st place for long distance running. Now when i compete ( track and field) at the age of 15 i get either 1st or 2nd. sooo with that i would want to go farther with my talent and represent my country. are their any pre national teams that i could go for? or any special clubs?
im planning to do a junior triathlon next summer. summer of 2012. im starting to train. if any one could help me out with finding something out about being in the olympics for basketball or running that would be great (: please dont even bother saying " u cant go to the olympics" becase i dont give a shit what you say. if i have a goal, ill achieve it. and watch me one day ill be in them . thanks for everything!

Answer
There are different requirements for different sports in the Olympics.
Each athlete must meet standards as one of the top athletes in the world, and each country is allowed a number of entries in each event or sport.
Normally a country has a qualifying meet or try outs to pick their teams.
Your country's Olympic committee determines who gets to participate, and if you continue to do well in school you will advance in standings and hopefully be invited to the trials, where you can advance to the Olympics.
It is good to attend camps for specific training that your local coaches may not be able to provide, which happens in the off season, usually the summer months.
Track qualifies through the USATF, and you can find info at www.usatf.org
Basketball has used a camp and normally professionals from the NBA and a few college players are invited to the try outs.
