a good watch for endurance sports? (distance running)?

saint

Any of you know any good watches for distance running? I'm looking for more than a stop watch, and lap memories functions. I'd like one that shows my HR, calories burned and my speed.

I did some research on the web and found these brands that offer my needs: SUUNTO and Polar. From what I know these two brands are more experience in making HR monitor watches. But after some reviews I read some say Suunto watches' quality isn't worth it for the price and etc and yet I'm unfamiliar with Polar

So what watch do you runners wear and what do you recommend for me?
(me = half marathon runner)

Answer
I used to have a timex ironman watch, it lasted me throughout highschool cross country and track every year. It doesn't show heartrate, but its a GREAT watch.

I found a cheap one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320551758475&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Why do people watch sports on TV?

I'm very athletic. I'm a Black Belt in Karate Do, and I compete in tournaments. I'm a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I compete tournaments. I love boxing, and I have fought amateur boxing.

I don't understand watching sports, ANY sport on TV. Today all my friends got together to watch UFC 145, but I didn't feel like going.

I go crazy when a friend of mine is going to compete in Karate Do, Jiu Jitsu, or be boxing. I was all crazy 2 weeks ago calling everyone to come with me see one of my friend's boxing fight.

I'll go out of town just to see a friend fight or compete. I don't care if someone I don't know is fighting.

I can't understand watching football, baseball or soccer. All of the players are people who are not my friends, who I'll probably never meet. I don't see the point in watching them play.

Mixed Martial arts is more my kind of sport, but I don't feel like watching the UFC. I don't know any of the people fighting.

Answer
Well and I could be completely wrong, but it sounds like your friends don't watch you compete. But they can watch hours of sports of people they have no emotional connection. It must hurt when they can watch a tv fight but not you live. Meanwhile you go above and beyond to support your friends in there activities. Your friends may take you for granted and don't know how much you truely do. Voice your concern. Real friends will listen and make changes.
BUT if I'm wrong sports are exciting to watch regardless if you know the people or not. Like the Olympics. A double amputee they call Blade Runner is running for the American side.
OR it's cheaper to watch it on tv at home.
