Cross Country/Swimming?

Dusty

ok im thinking of either joining cross country next year or swimming. I have no experience in swimming but i run 3 miles four to five times a week. If i were to choose swimming i would do a summer league or something so that im not completly clue less when the season starts. I would like to know the ups and downs to each sport and what each is like. And also just any other information i should know about each. Or even better if someone has been in both please tell which they enjoyed better. Thank you

Answer
You should swim because 1) it's the best sport 2) it tones arms, chest, your entire body instead of just your legs (which nobody cares about) 3)there are more strokes to do 4) there are more drills to do 5) if you swim, you'll need to run to train for it anyway 6) each race isn't as long 7) you won't stink of sweat 8) you can eat a lot 9) it doesn't get boring as easily 10) you don't need to listen to music to stay interested 11) there are so many things to perfect (dives, turns, early vertical forearm) 12) it's more fun to watch videos about how to improve, learn about 13) there are more physics involved so thats cool to know 14) swimmers can swim, something not everybody in the world can do 15) runners can only run fast, if you stay on the streets long enough that will happen anyway.
