I am turning 17 this year, am I old enough 2 run a marathon?
Q. I have heard that I should not run one until I am older because I am still growing. However at 5ft I am not getting any taller, does that make a difference?

You are old enough for a marathon but have you run 10k's and half marathons? Don't rush the long distance unless you are ready to devote a couple of hours a day to running, rest and recovery.
Of course, if you are like the gifted YA people who answered that they have already run a bunch of marathons at a young age, go for it.
Your physical build might make a difference if you were trying to be a world class athlete but not if you are human like the rest of us. Watch a finish of a big race and you will see people of all body types do pretty well.
