I want to get either an iphone 4 or a samsung captivate. My number one goal is to keep the phone under my data cap. I would be using it for some facebook, a little internet browsing, music, apps, texting(big one), and video. I do not care about iphones lack of internet flash, (but the camera flash is a posotive). But my number one thing is data consumtion. IE if i were to have an iphone, i know facebook updates will be pushed w/o the app being open. But on android, idk if it supports push notifications, and that would use all the more data loading the app to look for notifications.
The data is my number one concern.
PS: i dont want to spend money on a new ipod touch, so im leaning at the iphone. I have an expensive ihome, and i dont want it to go to waste.
I also forgot to mention i would be on a 200 mb data plan

Verizon Cell Phone - Bolt vs Charge?
Q. So I am stuck between the HTC Thunderbolt vs Samsung Charge. I know that the Charge's screen is awesome. I heard that the OS is somewhat slow compared to the HTC's Sense. Is that true? I will admit I do not know how to root a phone to make it better. Any good websites for beginners? I heard that the ThunderBolt's battery is horrible but I am always near a charger anyways. Please Help. I can not decide :(
Answer
I chose the thunderbolt. And HTC sense isn't an OS. OS means operating system, and both of these phones operating systems is android. What you are looking at is UI which means User Interface. I chose the thunderbolt it because i loove HTC sense UI much more than samsungs touchwiz because samsungs UI just keeps reminding me of the iphone and its not really that orginized. HTC sense is much friendlier and its so much more useful to. I do have to admit that the droid charge's screen does look amazing, but the thunderbolts screen is still more than satisfying. The thunderbolts screen isn't bad or anything at all, its actually amazing, but it just doesnt look that good just when compared to a phone with a super AMOLED display like the charge which has many more colors and a brighter screen. Plus the thunderbolt also supplies a kickstand, and i don't know about you, but its very useful to me anytime i want to play music because a speaker is located under the kickstand, or if i want to watch vidoes, or if you wanna video call. And you know, you can get an extended battery for the thunderbolt which lasts longer than the charges battery, and its only about 20 bucks. Plus, the thunderbolts battery isn't that bad. I'll explain why its hated by many people. Ok, see when some people get a new phone like the thunderbolt, they love to open every single application on the phone that they install from that market. And you may not know this, but since this is a smartphone, if you are in an application or a game and you just click the home button, the application is actually most likely still running in the background of the phone. So as you are using the phone and you go to a different application, then 2 applications start running at once. And it just going more and more SO OBVIOUSLY THE FRICKEN BATTERY WILL DRAIN FAST! Then all the dumb people that do that give the phones battery a terrible rating when it was just their own stupidity which caused the battery to drain fast. So if you want to exit an application and prevent it from running when your phone is off or just from running in the background, then instead of clicking the home button, keep clicking the back button on your phone, and then it will either exit the app itself, or if it doesn't exit the app by clicking home, then it's ok to click the home button. But no matter which phone you get, definitely download an app called advanced task killer, which is a free app, and it's just an app which tells you al of your applications which are running in the background, and it lets you shut them off from there. Just be smart with the battery and don't be like those stupid people that are crazy about the battery. So pretty much i gave you the main big differences, because these phones are actually very much alike and they are both great phones, but if you had to pick between the 2, i would chose the thunderbolt. Speed wise, they are almost exactly the same, because they are both 4g LTE phones and they have similar processors. If you want to look at a video of these 2 phones against each other, then go to youtube.com, and type in HTC thunderbolt vs samsung droid charge, and look at the video by the channel named "Phonedog" I think in this video the droid charge won, but again it may have features that you will love or hate, so if you don't agree with me and you want to go with the charge, then that will still be a great phone. Hope i helped and good luck
