I have a 1080i television at home. when i go to best buy or frys and check out the blu ray movie thats playing on a 1080p television it seems too fake. Is the one that is playing on the 1080p the real deal?
When you look at it, it seems life like. When I watch blu ray on my television it is a lot sharper in picture and sound quality. Am I losing a lot while running on a 1080i?
how would i be able to do that to my television also? do i just need to play with the tv setting
Answer
A 1080p picture when compared on larger screens will look better than 1080i. In a basic sense 1080p will provide a better picture on a 37" or larger HDTV, and arguably on a 32" or larger.

Answer
Many displays and monitors cannot display over 60 fps. Fluent play is about 35 to 40 or higher.

Without Fraps: 100-250 FPS Variable
With Fraps: Capped at 60

Yes, at least 60 if not recording and even 50's+ in recording.
This $500 Acer is i5-3210M and GT 630M and should play the same as the HP Envy:

Generally, the HP Envy costs more than its specifications justify.
Here is a current owner survey and HP has fared low in it for years

17.3" i5-3210M GT 640M Acer at $650

You don't need an i7 unless at least a GT 650M.
Once into the $800 range, you go to Lenovo.com for Y500's on sale.
16GB DDR3 ram is a waste. The i7 and 16GB ram is for video editing of large videos; not for gaming. Gaming will max out its need at 8GB.
Anyway, good luck. Before you go for the HP Envy, please learn about requirements in gaming. And, BEATS is just an audio profile change. You do better with external speakers and a free equalizer.
