Why do women wear skimpy clothing?

I was watching a decathlon/track/running sports tv broadcast. And I notice that the men wore rather skin tight shirts with short sleeves and a bit loose shorts a little above the knees, but when it was the women turn, they wore short short spandex, basically underwear, and tank tops or crop tops with no sleeves, exposing their belly. Is there some physical issue between the two clothing with gender or anything like that?

Answer
Sprinters and really all competitive runners wear as little clothing as possible, so that it doesn't hold them back. All runners wear spandex, and an athletic top (spandexy material) or a sports bra. It's not that they're wearing skimpy clothing to skank it up, it's to give them an advantage. What's easier to run in? A t-shirt and baggy shorts? Or spandex and a sports bra? It's the runner's preference to what they want to wear. If you look up female olympic sprinters on google images, you'll see that almost every one of them wears a sports bra and spandex underwear or short spandex.

What is your convertible car seat? Do you like it?

monmon

What is its weight and height range? How much does it cost?
I am looking for a good safe convertible car seat because my baby will outgrow his infant car seat soon.
Any advice?

Answer
Avoid 3-in-1s for 2 reasons. First, by the time your child is needing a booster seat the plastic is going to be close to expiring or expired. Second, the IIHS last year did tests on existing boosters and found a LOT of them aren't that safe, especially the 3-in-1s tended to not be as safe. I expect that booster seats in a year or two are going to have better standards, and since we're talking a 4-8 year old in a booster, it's worth getting one that's safe (and it's not like all of them are expensive, one of the safest boosters cost in the $20's.)

Look for rear-facing high weight limits. You want your child to ride rear-facing to 2 years old (according to the AAP.) Also, we had a car seat from safety first and it just didn't hold up, so I really don't like their seats. :/ We currently have a Graco My-Ride and a Britax Decathlon (they don't make them anymore.)

Graco My-Ride rear-faces to 40lbs and has a height of something like 42inches, then goes to 65lbs and a height of 49 inches. It has cup holders which my daughter loves. It runs from $129-$150 about.

The Britax Decathlon they don't make that often anymore. The most comparable version is the Marathon, and Britax has just released a new line that is the Marathon 70. Rearfacing it goes to 40lbs and 70lbs forward facing, but the same 49 inches height. They run about $300.

If you want to save money though, watch for sales. Like there's always coupons for 20% off at Toys-R-Us, and that can help with costs. I like the Britax for the safety ratings and the steel frame, but the Graco is great with rear-facing and just a good seat all around.

The only seat I know of that seems to seat a taller child would be the Radian XTSL. They run $300 about, but rear-face to 45lbs, forward to 80lbs, can use a latch system until 80lbs, and are made from steel (making them heavier, but also not as wide and the expiration is 8 years instead of 5-6 years.)
