I like to watch a couple shows, like top chef, law and order, and local news. With websites like hulu and others that stream live tv, is there any way to connect my computer to my tv and avoid paying the cable/satellite bill, while still watching my favorite shows?

Answer
Yea you can, but the video quality obviously won't be super great. It will be average at best. You will need a VGA input on your TV to consider it. If you don't have a VGA/PC input, you will need to buy a PCMCIA card with a HDMI output.

If you have a VGA input, just get a male to male VGA cable to connect your laptop to your TV. Then run a mini phono cable from your headphone jack on your laptop to either your receiver or your tv. You might need a RCA L / R (white / red) splitter.

How do you avoid stomach cramping/side stitches during running?

My 10 y/o daughter is trying to run 3/4 of a mile to a mile every day except she starts getting stomach cramps and side stitches almost every time (they do go away after she slows down to a walk). She tries to avoid eating anything shortly before running and she drinks plenty of fluids. We don't know what else to do to avoid these cramps.

I was hoping some of you will have some ideas.

Answer
Ok there could be a few things that your doing wrong here but lets see if we can figure something out! Its good that shes not running right before she eats because that's one thing that guarantees cramps. Drink fluids is good but not before you run. Try and cut out caffeine and soda completely its terrible for runners! Give yourself four hours if you have daily product in your system and about an hour if you drank juice. Gatorade and powerade should only be taken AFTER you finish your workout! Water is best but drink it in small per-portions before you run.
Next, if your daughter is a beginner cramps and stitches are normal. Make sure you sit down with her before she runs and do some quality stretching with her ( especially ankle, calf and stomach stretches) She might also want to start doing sit ups to tighten up her core. Lastly watch the way she runs. Is she hitting the ground hard or performing heel to toe when her foot touches the ground? These things can effect the performance of your run resulting in stomach pains and leg pains. Oh and make sure she sets herself up with a good easy pace until she feels comfortable and strong in her mile. Let me know if any of this helps!
