Which fitness band is right for me for running?

Advice Guy

I am a runner. Each morning I do a core workout in the gym, and then go for a run in the afternoon. I want a band(Nike Fuelband, Jawbone UP,etc.) that would monitor my progress and help me improve. Any suggestions of which one would be right for me?

Answer
Personally i think ALL the fitness tools are a little overpriced. I also don't think they are all that useful for runners.
I'll make one exception. If you have a lot of friends on facebook who have a nike fuelband, the fuelband might be a pretty good motivational tool - in that you get to compete with your friends for bragging rights. I know that the Nike + chalenge area used to be a great motivational tool for me to meet my monthly goals.
Since you're a runner, i think your money is better spent on a GPS heart rate monitor watch or app.
You should take a look at the Motorola ACTV - it might provide you with some good data.

How can I record one show and watch another at the same time?

I just switched to Charter digital and they hooked up a Motorola box. Now I can't tune anything through my VCR like I used to. The VCR must be set to 3 and channels must be changed through the cable box. I can only record what I am watching.

Answer
You can try this. The cable that runs to the Motorola box, split that and run the second line to your VCR. See if you can now tune in shows with your VCR's tuner. If so, then use it that way.

You will have to use some alternate method to feed your tv from your vcr since your tv will also still need to be fed by the motorola box for digital cable.
